Not just for ricer's anymore

So as i was on my way to work this morning, at Riverside dr and walnut hill(i think) this silver M3 pulls up in the left lane, in the center was this silver/pewter awd VOLVO, and then me. I normally dirve fast so when the light turned green i took off, and i hear the m3 gun it and try to fly by and then out of nowhere the volvo passes us both like we were standing still. After he passes us the M3 slams on the gas and flys by at like 100(with his flashers on) after the volvo had slowed to about 45. The M3 driver looked about 35.

I thought volvos were just safe grocery getters, what the heck???
It had R stamped on the calipers and the wheels and it was awd.
What kind of crazy volvo was this?

There are a couple different 300hp Volvos like this one or this one, but I don't think the 300hp models come in AWD. :?:

2004s can be had for 10k-15k less than new. Here is one in the metormess.

What color were the wheels? Did it have a body kit? I just built wheels for an S60R and we're beginning production on a line of 18s and 19s for the S60R.

The wheels were silver, and the calipers and wheels both had the "r" on them.
I am pretty sure it was the newest one, because the one in the link to auto trader has more of a shelf on the rear fenders, than the one i saw.
