Well. The saga continues.
I have a stock 99 Engine with higher mileage(104K) that I am going to put in the car. If anyone can help on Friday night, pull the old and put the new I would appreciate it. I have a 30 day warranty from the salvage yard, so I want to get it running asap to see if there are any issues. I got a good deal considering it is a 99 motor.

If I wasn't working I'd be there... that and Saturday morning is gonna be busy anyhow with TtT's shock install.
That is cool. I think Gary is gonna help when I get to the actual pulling part of the process.
I had to take the front cover off of the engine to get to the water neck because it was broken in the wreck. Here are a couple of pics. The motor looks really clean and well maintained. The timing belt is new and the water pump looks new as well.

Which motor is this??
A stock 99 motor I got at a junkyard today. It is going in and I am shelfing the new motor until winter... I got it for $700, delivered to my work....
I was looking for a shortblock to put the other head on and I ran into this deal. I figure I can run the car for a while with it, when I get the trick motor done, I can sell it. The 99/00 head/intake are bringing good money as an upgrade for the 94/97 guys.
If this motor runs good, I will probably sell the freshly worked head and intake that is in the car now, assuming they are in good shape. They should be.

Broken water neck....
I got the motor out this morning and pulled the pan. Both thrust bearings were laying inside the pan... can you say small claims court....

They told me to pound sand. So I took the motor to a "reputable machine shop" to have them dissasemble the motor and opine on the cause of said failure. Additionally, I sent, certified mail, a letter requesting my money back by 7/29 or else..... no response as of yet. I am waiting on the machinist opinion before I proceed. The new motor is patiently waiting for me to get my gumption back. Have i mentioned its hot in Dallas?
