Parallel fan wiring
Has anybody tried this? I use my Miata to commute about 50 miles one-way M-F. The last 6-7 miles are stop and go. When the weather gets hot...it's mostly stop for me.
Looks like I am getting ready to do a complete rebuild. Since I have to take all of the accessories and the timing belt off just to get to the water pump...might as well.

You can try two things
1. parallel wiring (Search the garage section of Miata.net)
2. Use a temporary jumper in your Diags box during the summer to turn the fans on with the ignition.

Have the Miata.net article, thought I would try it.
However, there is some concern expressed at the end about the ability of the relay to handle the extra current. The concern is only theoretical, so, I thought I would see if anyone was actually using that set-up in this area.
Thanks again.

I have been running in parallel and ignition on for the whole summer.

If you are really worried, jumper the fan relay at the DIAG control and then both fans will run off their own relay. Plus you can just pull the jumper if you want to reverse it.

I've had parallel fans for almost 2 years and no problems, related to the fans at least. ;)

Perfect gents!
Thanks...I am going outside now to parallel my fans and go ign on.
