Pet Peeves...

I again experienced one of my number one pet peeves last night on tollway on the way home from work. I was behind that one nitwit in the European car that doesn't know/care that his rear fog lamp/s is/are on. If you've never seen this, it looks like they've one brake light on and bright as hell!

I've always wanted to just stop them and show them how their light switch works... idiots.

Sorry... had to vent.

What kind of car was it? I don't believe I have ever experienced this phenomenon.

Jags, Audis, BMW... any of the European cars. They're all required (over there) to have a rear fog lamp for, well, foggy days. But most Americans don't know what their cars are equipped with.

For example, on my Passat, the light switch turns two clicks to the right... first position is off, second is parking lights and third is running lights.

Now, it also has two pulls out. One pull is front fogs and second pull is rear...

Most idiots just twist and pull and go along their merry way...

Yeah... quite annoying... I've mostly seen them on Volvos and the occasional Jag.

Land/Range Rover drivers do this all the time! Rear fog lights are a godsend ---- in FOG! But, as noted, 99% of Americans don't know how to use them. :albino:

When was the last time anyone saw fog in North Texas anyway, Maybe SMOG.::Oscar::

I find it interesting how so many cars in Texas are equipped with fog lights. In Northern California the fog would get so thick that it the highway patrol would do 5 mph freeway escort groups to help people out. 30 car pileups were a regular occurrence. With all this, most CA cars didn't have fog lights. Ask the average person in CA about fog lights and they will tell you that they don't work and are a waste of money.

The average person here thinks you should turn on your high beams in fog, sending a very bright light back into the drivers face.

Being that I live in the "country"... I used to see quite a lot of fog... just north of McKinney. It would get thick enough that driving wasn't really worth it.

I have seen fog multiple times on 820 West and on 20 west of Ft Worth, but I have not had fog lights and made it just fine....just have to drive slow and keep the high beams off for sure...lol

The slowcus has foglights, and I only use them in rain or fog. My pet peeve is people who leave thier fog lights on all the time, if it's not foggy or rainy, turn them off!. Especially Ford truck fog lights, they are really bright.
