New Champ Car chassis debuts in San Jose

The new Panoz DP01 was revealed last night. It features some neat stuff. New to Champ Car are paddle shifters, and an onboard starter. The starter is a neat idea, because now the cars can return to the action after a wreck instead of waiting for a yellow flag and a safety crew to give them a push. The car was designed for closer racing, and lowered costs too. Next year should be very interesting in Champ Car. Of course this year is turning out to be very interesting also. With Bourdais winning the first 4 races, then A.J. Allmendinger winning the next three, now Justin Wilson scored a win last week in Edmonton. Tomorrow's race in San Jose could have anyone in the winner’s circle.
