How to clean oil stains on concrete

I thought I'd pass the following info on if anyone needs this done.

I wanted to remove the last remnants of the Nissan Valdeez. ;) I had some oil stains in the driveway.

First I used some kitty litter to soak up the wet oil but it left behind a nasty stain in the concrete.

I went to Homer Depot and picked up some concrete cleaner. The stuff I got was real similar to this stuff.

Basically you pour the stuff on the stain and let it dry. Once it's dry it turns into a chalky cake. Then you take a stiff bristle push broom and scrub and sweep it away. No water, no nasty acids.

The stuff works! Oil stains are gone! :clap:

You can also take your boot and actually grind the kitty litter down into the concrete. Works great!

How much did that stuff cost? I've used T-I-D-E in the past. Sprinkle on the Tide, dampen it with water, scrub it with a broom, let it set for a while and then rinse it away.

Only two complaints:

1. Very slick
2. One friend actually ended up having to do the entire drive because his wife didn't like the white spot in the dirty concrete!

Wonder if the Tide is cheaper . . .
