Wiring instructions attached. You also need to run a vacuum hose to the intake manifold.... You getting FI?
Thanks Titus... things happen in such weird ways...
I got an unbelievable deal on alot of parts...
Moved over to FI Miata Tech & Chat...
well a friend of mine was interested in buying a miata, he asked me to go with him so we could look at the car and it had some rollbar that i didn't
recognized, 2" tubing, so i asked him if he would sell it separate.. he saw my interest in miata parts so he took me in his shop and showed me a bell intercooler... I wasn't too interested since i already have a turbo K03 and a small intercooler... He really didn't know much about what he had or its value...
anyone here ever played with megasquirt?
tomorrow i'll begin the assembly of the MSII v.3,
the website says it should take me a good 3-6hrs but
i have an engineer helping me and providing all the soldering
tools, hopefully i can finish it Monday...
I intend to have this EMS in my car before the 8th of
February so i can start playing with it and getting ready
for some boost!!!
..
lol... its actually pretty interesting, i got the package yesterday
with the PCB and all the components. Now this is a disassembled kit
and you can basically use megasquirt on almost any engine, therefore
they sent everything/anything i need for whatever engine, meaning
i'll have a lot of parts left over, lol... for once its not a bad thing...
the software is downloaded from their site and can be directly loaded
into the PCB's daughterboard (cpu) so you can later tune your fuel map
and all that good stuff...
yah every component has to be soldered... it all goes by steps, first i gotta make sure i'm getting power, then i have to check the communication with
a DB9 cable and a laptop, then the software is loaded... so on...
The engineer here at the tv station also has a soldering station
and that magnifying glass on the arm thing really helps. I think the
only thing i need right now would be a laptop...
I'll take it tomorrow so you can check it out...
Thanks to Channelmaniac for his superb soldering skills...
got the led's blinking... lol...
there was a jumper that was under the processor or in its
way so i couldn't snap on the processor so i bent the jumper
sideways. This wouldn't affect the jumper in any way right? its still
making contact...
Damn, should have read this the rest of the way through. Sounds like Raymond has you set up.
OH and get a Wide Band 02 sensor and controller. Makes tunning way easier. If you are running boost, did you get the 3bar MAP?
i'm acutally looking at the widebands that DIYautotune has to offer...
and no, i didn't get the 3bar. i'm not planning on running more boost
than my turbo can take... my IHI is limited to 18psi...
for the wideband controller, how often do you
use it, i mean, only for tunning and thats it or is there more use to it?
I am running the Innovative LC-1. I have it installed permanently. I have the MS configured to use the AFR map when it is running. You can put in what you want the AFR to be at any given RPM and MAP and the ECU will adjust to that figure.
