Okay, I couldn't leave well enough alone. At jrj512's tech day, we cleaned the TB and got the idle down. But the thing is, the idle stays the same, hot or cold. I took the TB off again today, and following the pointy board tips, have the IAC in the freezer. Next I'm supposed to boil it to see if the plunger moves inside. Question is, I can't get the black plastic housing for the solenoid off the IAC. Has anybody else done the freeze and boil technique, and did you take the solenoid off first? It just doesn't seem like a good idea to boil it, at least not without some hot sauce or something added.
