Anyone got any info on the toy run this year?
emailed them a week ago. was going to follow up next week.
I'll be out there tomorrow and ask Maggie.
Time for the Track Junkies to ride. Get in your whips and ride.
Looks like it would be a good weekend for the Lemons guys to go practice/break something.
Plan on joining in.
I'm definitely in this year.
Ok I talked to Maggie today. She wants us to fill out and email her this form so they can determine experience levels and form run groups since they anticipate a very big turnout. I forgot to ask her what the fee will be this year but at least you can get her the form and get on her list. Had a great time out there today but I never quite got the tires hot enough. The NT01s were still grippier than the Specs. I'll have some video in a couple days in a new thread.
Says $150 on the form, but it doesn't appear to be Toy Run-specific.
Yeah I just realized that omission, sorry. Ignore the fee. She just realy needs to get your experience on track for categorizing run groups. Like I said earlier I forgot to ask what it will be. Last year it was 50 bucks and a 2o dollar or higher toy.
Still a deal, evenif it increases. I'm definitely in!
Here is what I got from her:
Hi Jamie, each person that signs up needs to go to the forms tab on our
website and fill out the ECR track day application and fax it to me at
866-635-2395 to get signed up. The cost is $50 ( cash donation ) per driver,
a new unwrapped toy and a non perishable food item. Everyone must have a
helmet, long pants, and close toe shoes to drive.
Thanks So Much!
Maggie
I'm sending in mine tomorrow so I can get on the list
Here are a couple of laps from an NA6 to whet the appetite and show where the bumps are this year.

Do you7 like Racekeeper? Does it show predictive timing?
Nice driving Chris. If you have been to the toy run before and remember what group you were in or know what times you run give Maggie that info so it's easier for her to sort. Here is one video of me out there last Friday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOLBmeYdPr0
Filled out the form and emailed it. Hope we get in.
Application in!
Turned mine in this morning, too.
Signed up. Now, which car to bring...
The Lemons for shakedown and practice?
Not sure about that. Was thinking about my cars. But we might bring the Lemon as well...
It does predictive timing in the analysis software, and there's a live timing - in car option that uses an iphone or ipod touch (I don't have that piece (yet)).
I totally dig it. It's the best go fast part I've put in the car since I started going to the track. I'm just running basic data through it, but it supports additional sensors (throttle/steering/brake) as well as odb2 and a few aftermarket ECU's. Out of the box gps is 10MHz, and it can run up to 4 cameras. Everything synchs automatically, so once you finish a session, you can pull the file, put it on the computer, and be viewing data+video with sound in under 5 minutes. The cameras themselves are not HD, but the export files from the analysis software are.
+1 for the Racekeeper. Its the best one I've seen, but it definitely needs a lap-time display.
Sent my paper work off today.
Sent mine in just now
Im in, just signed up.
Although im sure we will meet, find me at the track and I'll be sure and get some killer shots of your cars.
::Banana::
So if you have never driven ar ECR would this be a good time to go?
In, now who's car can i barrow. Still waiting for a Greek MS2 to be built =(
I was in group two last year and it worked out well. Lead follow (at a quicker pace than group one) in the first session, but then they turn you loose. It was a good way to learn the track and still get some open time. I expect to be buzzed by the fast cars as I piddle down the straights in group three this year.
Maybe in the straights but you should be able to keep up with most cars in group 3 especially in the corners. Me and a few S2000's were blowing by almost everyone in group 4 last year. The nice thing is group 3/4 has less cars than groups 1/2 so you'll have more open track. Most the really fast kids like Ken O were running instructor group 5.
I don't think there was a group 5 but there may be one this year due to volume. I was in 3 last year. You can make good straight speed if you exit the corners fast.
Justin,
It's the perfect track for your car. Just be sure your brake pads are up to snuff.
The whole event is lead and follow (as there are so many cars you will be stuck behind someone slow most the time) unless your an instructor or a race car. The only clear track you will get is if your the first one on the grid. But you will find traffic fast.
Every other year the groups are set up not by skill so there will be some noobs with the fast guys unless they set it up like a normal track day this time.
years before it was
1 is noobs and people who never been to ecr
2/3 every one else
4 instructors / racecars
