Dang it. Now you have me thinking about a supercharger. All I want is at least 150hp at the wheels for right now...200hp later on, but that won't be for years to come though.Quote:

If you want growth past 150hp, start with a turbo and pick a system solution that has some headroom to grow with. I'm not knocking superchargers, but a 150hp s/c system is pretty tough/expensive to turn up to 200hp (feel free to correct/corroborate me Titus). A very long time ago, I had an early BEGI System IV.1 (no ECU mods, BEGI AFPR, J&S Knock Sensor). I had it set to 7 psi with no intercooler. I dynoed on the same day as a similar car with an M45 s/c (Jackson Racing), a header, extrude hone intake, and full exhaust. From 1500 to 2000 rpm, he had more hp. After that, I had more all the way to redline. Later, I added an intercooler, a cat-back exhaust, and injectors from a 1.8 car and turned it up to 9.5 psi. At that point, I was at 180-185hp for not much $$ more.
If you have a hp point where you want to be (and are sure you want to stay there) and there's a s/c that fits your requirements, go for it. If you want a growth path, pick a turbo system with a path in mind up front. My 2c.

Hard to go wrong with an NC, but a Mazdaspeed MX5 or the SWEET Black NB for sale here on the forum are both excellent options that will give you what you want in a turn-key package.

If supercharger setups are indeed simpler than turbo setups, I think I'm going to go with those. Now it's just time to save up...
