According to the previous owner, the timing belt was changed. Is there a quick way to see if it was done wrongly or not?

Just take a tq wrench and check the tq from time to time to verify it's at around 90lbs. Or you could remove the crank bolt and apply locktight, and re-torque to 90 lbs.
Sounds like something I'll need help with. That's what you local guys are for. :)
Did you have Rogue look at the car?
I'd do that before I even thought about turning a wrench since you could do more harm than good if you do it wrong.
Who did the last timing belt service on it??
