FYI, called Discount and they are matching the TireRack pricing. Basically what they've done for me in the past.
We normally sell the 215/45/17 StarSpecs for $530 shipped for DFW Miata guys. Let me know if you still need them.
Got them yesterday. Paid $528 + $10 shipping per tire. Of course had to pay for mounting/balancing, disposal for one tire (kept 3 of the old ones....the one I left had been patched), and tax. Caught off guard by the final price becuase for some reason I just didnt' add it all up in my head right. Oh well...got some very nice new tires. We'll be going to Eagle's Canyon soon.
Got the Discount Tire email this morning:
"Between October 2nd and December 4th, 2010, receive up to an $80 Mail-in Rebate when you purchase a set of four select Goodyear or Dunlop tires."

Same size, different profile.
When I first saw the tires, I thought I had the wrong size, had to double check. Before I had the Falken Azenis (RT-615 I think). These Dunlops have a noticibly higher profile. I don't even scrape the speed bumps in the parking garage as easily. But despite the slightly higher profile, they seem to be very stiff. Response in turning is very tight.
Next up....alignment.
