It doesn't eliminate the potential issue with a clogged cat. I still say the test with the cat disconnected is cheap and easy. Or drive the car for a while and see if the cat's glowing.

I'd think f the cat was clogged you'd be seeing a CEL due to the two O2 sensors not liking the information they were getting from the exhaust. But I could be wrong. But I do like the thought of of pulling the Exhaust and driving around to piss off the neighbors.
With it in park will the motor rev up quick or is slow to respond??
and does it rev hang?
I rode with open headers on the M5 for a week and, while the sound was glorious, I was more deaf than I care to admit when I was done. I didn't get a code either.
What do you mean by "rev hang"?
+1
Rev it up... put it in N and does it stay @ that rpm and slowly come down or does it go down quickly as it should? Or like POS asked... will it even rev.
It will rev up OK, but it does seem to take a long time to finally drop back down to idle speed. What does that indicate?
It does it a bit no matter what (emissions crap), but if it's reallllly slow that can indicate a vacuum leak.
