The stated weights make no sense. Rudy at TR tells me they will update that info when they actually have the tires and can weigh them in-person. Seeing as BFG is specifically targeting the ST and RT market, I expect they will be similar to the existing choices, but we will see.
terry fair over at vorshlag was at the event. he posted on FB that the BFG slick pulled something like 1.3g on a skid pad with a NC and the rival pulled 1.1 iirc
Looks like they are now 7.2/32" instead of just 7/32" Guess they are now SCCA legal?
I figured they'd have to be >7/32 since BFG was specifically targeting the SCCA and Lemons/Chump market. Nice to have another good option. Jrj512s results this morning suggest the Z2 is going to be another top choice.
Ordered my BFG tires, looks like I am going to get a free BFG Jacket for ordering early.
^Look forward to your findings Robert.

It's time for new tires for me too, so maybe ill give these a try and see what happens..
Hehe, they busted me. So much for trying a new wheel/tire size combo stealthily, since there are only two sizes currently shipping. They did call me today to get my jacket size!
Ran a PCA event on the rivals today. Concrete, temps in the low 50s for am runs, mid 60s in the pm. First impression; best first run grip of any tire I've ever run. Better cool grip than a Z1. Ran a very solid first run immediately. Turn in is fantastic, very crisp. Going to have to back off a bit on slaloms and offsets compared to the RS3.
Afternoon, the grip improved, but not as dramatically as an RS3. Overall grip is pretty similar to the kook, but you get much more of it right away. They do "plant" and grip better with a direction change and then back on the throttle.
You cannot run as low air pressures as the kooks. I dropped 2 psi in the last few runs to see how much grip could be had, and they got really loose and sloppy. Didn't ever really get them hot like a summer event, but they were back to back runs with maybe 2 min between the last three runs. I dont think they were going off from heat, just too little pressure, though it was a similar sensation to overheated Star Specs.
No doubt, they are a different-handling tire than the main competitors, so its tough for me to speak too definitively at this point. Overall, I was impressed, and would venture to say they are an ideal choice for cool weather autox.
