Pisser is you are going to have to regularly check the oil in it as well....

Live and learn though..btw, what oil would y'all recommend
From the time I bought my car, until three oil changes ago, I used Mobil 1. Then, I switched to Rotella T6. I also over fill by half a quart, always. Then, check oil level about once a week.
Tick is gone...at least for the afternoon drive home.
Added oil and put some seafoam in there too...if it stays like that, I'll do a full oil change this weekend
Thanks for everybodys feedback...like previously mentioned, you live, you learn
Good to hear, keep an eye on the oil level. If it comes back do the ATF trick, it made my loud tick go away permanently.
Ultimately the problem is worn out HLAs. They need to be replaced as needed. It doesn't harm anything. Just annoying as hell.
They're not necessarily worn out, they're likely just gunked up and can be cleaned. If the noise comes back I'd try that before replacing them - they're not real cheap, and there's 16 of them...
Sea foam, B-12 chem tool and or ATF.
I run a half to full bottle of one of the above every other oil change.
Don't be suprised at what kinda crud will come out the first time or two you do it. Makes me all warm inside.
I noticed going from Synthetic to Dyno oil made my clatter go away. When I was using Royal Purple my Miata sounded like a diesel. I'm using Castrol High Mileage in the green bottle and have been pleased with the results.
