Since Google bought Motorola mobility, it has drastically changed. Motorola has been ahead in mobile industry since the first dual core Atrix but it was always neglected and had no marketing. I had an issue with the phone and they sent me a new one and told me to ship the other one back once I transfer all my data, all shipping paid. I don't even remember last time I restarted my phone and there was barely any junk apps. IMHO, it's the best android phone if you don't use gimmicky apps made by Sadsung and Snapple.
A couple of smart phone-aphobe friends picked up a pair of G2's several months ago. One deciding factor was the bright and clear screen. The OLED Samsung screens aren't bright enough for me which hampers reading black text on white backgrounds. I'll shoot em an email and see how they're coming along.
I know OZMDD probably already bought a phone but I ran across this today and just wanted to share for anyone doubting Motorola's capabilities. For a company making radios and phones as long as they have, they are doing it right:
