Leave your doors unlocked and take the garage opener inside the house!
That's what I am going to do after I got my top fixed. Should have done that all along. :banghead:

Get a new revolving code door opener with a remote keypad. You won't have to carry the remote with.
I think your home owner insurance may cover this. I am sure it will, if it is on the driveway (inside your property line). Give them a call. Nothing to loose!
So if I purcahse this M2 top on ebay.

I would need to reuse my Rain Rail, tensioner cables and top hatches. Am I correct???
Alan
you should not change the code on your garage and start sleeping in there with a shotgun. hehe.
seriously that sucks, and if you need help putting on a new top id be glad to help you.
Generally, the garage door openers can only accept 4 garage door remotes at a time. If you program the other remote(s) four times, it should loose the information from the other remote from its memory.
Thanks guys for the kind words. I'm a believer of Karma.
I'm in the process of locating a used NB top from the local salvage yards.
If that doesn't work, I would have to put a new top on my existing frame (which I believe is still straight).
I might throw a Pizza and Beer party to tempt you guys to help. :D

Sorry to hear that... looked at the pic and was like "ohhh, dam!!!" Not a little slash, huh? I'd say not repairable, and agree that insurance is a good idea.

leave the garage door alone and do this.

Picked up a M2 top from the salvage yard today.
There are cracks on the rubber strip below the window, where the top blots on to the chassis. Is that the rain rail? Will the cracks cause any wather leakage?
Attachment 1219
The back side of the plastic strip is fine, rubber is nice and soft.
Attachment 1220
Other than the top, these are the hardware I received.
Attachment 1221
What else do I need to make it a easy top swap?
Thanks for all the helps,
Alan
Isn't there a difference between the NA frame and an NB frame???
Yep you are correct! Just looked up the difference for giggles.Quote:
The main difference between the M1(1990-1997) and M2(1999+) tops is the back bow. On the M2 the back bow floats using straps and springs. On the M1, the bow is attached directly to the soft-top. To install the M2 top on the M1 frame you will have to make the back bow float like on the M2. I did this by installing a set of straps that holds it in place when the top is closed. The only thing that you have to deal with after doing the conversion is you have to manually hold the bow forward while letting the top down. The M2 frame has a set of springs that does this step for you
Looks like a broken rain rail which will leak. :(
NB Top installed. :D
Looks good! Congrats... now keep an eye out for the bastard that harmed the car...
What did you do about that rainrail?
