Does anyone else find it ironic that a bunch of Miata owners are saying "Eww.. don't buy an SUV..it will make you look ::Paul:: ". :punchout:
My mom drives a Lexus RX330. She loves it. She's a 61 year old retired accountant.
If he's dead set on the two choices above, I'd tell him to combine them both and shop for a certified, pre-owned BMW X5 (NOT an X3 - theX3 holds less stuff and rides a lot worse than a 3 Series wagon). The X5 holds more stuff, rides and handles better than the X3, and won't project the "I'm gay, I just haven't come out of the closet yet" image that a twenty-something in an RX330 would.

BMW just released the 2nd gen X5, so your friend should be able to get a great deal on a certified 1st gen.
Audi All-Road, BMW X5, Acura RDX (with the 2.3 turbo),
If he's hauling a guitar and amps, he doesn't need an SUV. He has too much stuff if he can't fit it in a car for a gig.
Yes, a different friend (non-lawyer) just bought a jet black 4Runner. It looks pretty badass. He's in sports radio broadcasting (professionally) so he has gear to haul around, too. My vote for all this gear hauling remains a two year old CPO Element, but both these guys are single so there is a "chick magnet" issue that we married blokes don't have to sweat.

"Chick Magnet"
I take at 29 he is starting to pick up on the fact girls don't find him desirable??
Ya sure a car will fix that issue??? :nutkick:
How about a Civic SI and a trailer?
I think the choice is clear...
I mean, what chick could resist the allure?
