Hernia Surgery Monday 8/6

My out-patient surgery turned into a 3-day/2-night hospital stay. The hernia was much larger than thought and required additional reconstruction. After surgery I wasn't able to be discharged and Monday night and all day Tuesday was one of the most painful experiences I've ever had (and I've been through 4 kidney stones).

Today was much, much better. Although there is substantial incisional pain, I can get up and walk. Anyway, I'm home. ::Banana::I'm grounded from driving for a week and can't lift anything heavier than 10 pounds for 4 weeks. Fortunately, my girlfriend can help with my errands.

There are lots of different kinds of hernias! The most common for newborns are umbilical hernias and diaphragmatic hernias. Neither have any relation to what I had.

Glad you're home and okay. Sorry to hear about the day of pain -- yuck! I had a kidney stone about six months ago and I was ready to throw in the towel! Yes, I'm a :cat:.

I was down for a week or two (I had the old school, big-scar type surgery, not that insurance-paid-for-it, tiny incision jobbie all you :cat: go for nowadays ;)
