That 96m is my number 1!
Laguna is my close second!
No slushies! ;)
I can sell my '94 R for $4500 to recoup my costs for the new wheels/tires and title transfer headaches. It's a great car but I got it for much less :).
Is it a Laguna?
A buddy of mine is selling his white 95. Pretty clean car. He just did the tb and wp. Has 99 upgraded suspension and roll bar. 165k miles. Unfortunately it is open diff. Let me know if you are interested and I can talk to him. $2400
Yeeeeeeeeep
Ah man, I know! I hope that even though prices will go up the supply will as well. Im hoping the right one will come along soon.
Well the great news is that almost any Miata can be the right one if the price is right. As far as I know there are only two real major bad things I've seen and that's rust in the rear quarter in front of the tires due to clogged rain rail drains and rust in front fenders due to an accumulation of crap in front of the door between the fender and frame. Battery well rust can be bad too if someone ditches the AGM type batteries and there is seepage. Other than that almost anything on a Miata is pretty easy to address. I feel its almost the ultimate enthusiasts car because they are so easy to work on. I'd really like for my 16 yr old son to drive one regularly except they are very small and he is probably going to have a wreck sometime.
My daughters first car was a Miata she drove it from five years. Made her run a season of AX with me when she was just 15 as part of her drivers training. She still will run an AX when she has time. Out of State College is the only reason she still doesn't drive a Miata. ;)
Jmoney you do realize you can own more than one miata during your lifetime. I think Sammm has had like 20 of em. I've had 4 so far.
At this point I'd settle but I havnt seen one I love.
I've been helping look for jmoney, and I haven't really seen a decent car locally. I've seen more automatic NB's than I have in the last several years.
Saw a nice 94 R-package with hardtop on FB today. Think its in Florida. Around $4k, 111k miles.
Here's an '01 near Austin that seems reasonable.

Daugher..... son..... Not going to get into how irresponsible teenage boys are. I've owned 4 so far....... I keep thinking after the NA/5.0 conversion is done that I need an NB/LS conversion to go with it. Then I will probably want an ND/turbo to go along with them both.
This is likely your best shot at a 95M in your price range

Saw that a few days ago, in contact with him now. Wish me luck!
I also saw that a few days ago, in contact with him now. Wish me luck! ::EvilBana
;)
Saw it before both of you. Already bought it, removed valuable parts, and sold it back to the same owner at a profit.
Anyone know of a good mechanic in Killeen, ft hood to do a PPI?
^A quick check of the google found this...

John Long
I called them, spoke with Gina. Not open on weekends :(. mazda kileen is open so I may have to go with them.
This could be an awesome weekend!!
Better bet is to pay Rogue to go down and do the ppi. He's the one who will be working on it down the road anyway.
Just a secondary data point - Our local Mazda Dealer couldn't even do simple warranty work when our Miata was new. Not sure how much I'd trust the lube technician recently promoted to service tech in Kileen with a inspection of a Miata that is more than likely older than he/she is*......
*POS Racing is not a fan of new car dealers service departments.
Shit man well id like to know it's worth it before I drag Shana on a 5 hour drive. What would you do?
Keep in mind I am not a fan of new car dealer service departments. Because I have experienced enough inept "technicians" in my many years that I am now jaded.
Any chance you could work around the scheduled of the know Miata expert?? Yea Yea I know I am proposing taking a day off but really.
Here's a sweet '96M that's local! :D

And I'm supposed to convince the seller to drive an hour to round rock on a weeknight drop his car off overnight for a seller he doesn't know and might not buy the car, have someone else drive him back. Then somehow coordinate it to where they can drive an hour back there, but before the weekend... Just to potentially sell the car. I wouldn't do that if it was selling the car.
