Think I'm waiting a year also. I have that Costco/Amex yearly check coming though. Not even here yet and burning a hole in my pocket. ;)

Sony > Samsung.

I also found out once you get to 60" or larger with Samsung, you enter the 'panel lottery'. No guarantees who made your TV panel.
