So is there a gas station close to the track or is it a hike?
There is fuel at the track but it is first come first serve and when its gone....its gone. And BTW: its not cheap.
Closest 93 octane off track is 10 miles east on 455 in Boliver.
Has any schedule of the day been posted yet?
Once the gas is at the track is gone it's 17 miles to town for gas.
Anyone heading from the Frisco/Plano/Mckinney area with some extra room to haul a set of tires? Wife is not sure if she's going and I'd like to run my R comps.
What coudl possibly go wrong?

Need a hardtop to do it though.
Just recieved a reply from Maggie and I'm on the list and they don't plan to make run group assignments until Saturday AM.
Gates open at 7:30 AM
Driver Meeting at 8:30 AM
I will help assign run groups. PM for my paypal acct for favored group assignment.
Well, I'm super duper fast and have the coolest helmet, so of course I can run in the instructor group. But I'll be in the second-fastest white BMW and drive like a little old lady so I don't peel all my tread off the bling bling rims, so a medium run group could probably contain my expertise and testosterone.
I have volunteered to help two newbies as well, so a group that doesn't run immediately before or after the Rookie group would be groovy.

So what's up with all teh n00bs signing up in the Expert group?
How can you tell who is signed up in which group?
I thought run groups were TBD.
Porsche, Cadillac, Vette, E90 = expert lap time out of the box. Believe it or not, Miatas are not for expert drivers.
Fun day. Got down to 2:12 according to Leilanie's stop-watch. Had a good time battling with Ozmdd in my final session.
Had a good day going until I had to bite the dust. Car needs an alinement as it now pulls to the right. Better than replacing body parts. Not really a problem as I have all Winter to get it fixed.
I almost didnt go today but man im glad i did as I had a great time! It was a bit nippy in the morning but once the sun came out it was nice. I logged just over 70 miles and averaged 4.9 mpg but I have no idea what kind if times I had. No matter it was fun and I felt like I was getting faster with each lap and ECR is really fun with HP.
At the track, Miata > 135i.
Car is damn fast in a straight line, manageable in the turns, but brakes are definitely the weak spot. One or two laps at pace, and the brakes are done.
Hate to admit that the noliftflatouttrackjunkies are right sometimes, but today was a total blast! The day was beautiful, the track was fun, and ECR was beyond "class act" in how it opened the track to almost anybody and ran the event so smoothly. Providing corner workers on a day when they weren't making a dime really shows the Christmas Spirit and support for the auto-enthusiast community as a whole. Bravo!
I think the cool temps were a blessing for the Miatas, letting us maximize HP even though grip was tricky. MaxQ shows a 2:10.6 on my best lap, and a few 2:11's and 2:12's. My final session with JJ and Maschmann in his GT3 was the most fun I've had with clothes on all year, I think! The best part was watching the assclown who wouldn't point us by after 3 laps and 4 overtake flags going 4-off as we blew by.
After Lee and I played for a couple laps andwe came in, he got scolded for not pointing me by! LOL. No way I would've made it past him unless he put it in neutral for a few turns.
BTW - thanks to KenO for getting me bumped out of Blue before we started; that would've been frustrating.
I thought this one was the smoothest event.
The last session was the best. Track got warm and the air was still cool. Got down to a 2:03.8 in the stock M3. Not bad.
Any pictures?
