This is a limited edition Civic Si sedan that will be sold officially by Honda starting in the spring of 2007. Even though Mugen parts are known for their ridiculously high quality, this car's estimated $30,000 price tag is simply too high.

The kit consists of NO engine modifications except a new exhaust. Mugen suspension. Mugen body kit. Mugen wheels (admitedly gorgeous, but similar rims on King Motorsports' website sell for $680 each :shock:). Mugen shift knob and, uh, that's about it. HP? 197 -- exactly the same as my $20,500 Civic Si.

I'm sure they will sell the 500 cars that are planned, but the Si package is simply not competitive at $30k. If you bought all those Mugen parts and put them on your Si, you would spend more than $30k total, but still.

You'd be better off buying the Honda Factory Performance suspension kit for $580, picking up a nice set of SSRs with some sticky buns, not screwing up your factory warranty, and calling it a day.

I've seen similar ridiculous prices for Nismo 350Zs and RX-8s kitted out with all of the available Mazdaspeed factory parts.

Still, I'm sure Honda will find plenty of riceboys willing to pay $10k over sticker for a buncha factory Mugen parts.

The funny part is some of the rich kids will probably get these and think they are the sh*t because it is a special limited edition. Meanwhile srivendel, Adam, and I will still do circles araound them.

Let's see to stay under the $30K price tag I can get:
2006 Acura RSX Type-S $25K w/TT&L
Mugen Twinloop exhaust $350 plus trade my stock exhaust
ITR P&P IM $350
Injen CAI $250
Hondata IM gasket $50
Comptech Short Shifter $75
Tein Flex Coilovers $1700
ITR 4 pot Bermbo brakes $1000

and that leaves me with $1225 for either a Toda Race header or Hondata K-Pro (or at least a reflash) or rims & tires

I'll stick with my RSX-S.

I figure a new twinloop is $1000 so I think I got a pretty good deal.

Cool part is it's barely louder than stock until you floor it.

You should come out to one of the meets and show off the pretty new ride.
