Wed Night Get-together 8-12-09

Well.... Rick has dropped the ball this week, so I'll post it...

Keller's this week?

Figured it was about time for a new and improved (but not much) thread...

Keller's Northwest Highway
6537 E Northwest Hwy
Bring cash... they don't take plastic!
Just east of Abrams, on the north side of the road (Google Maps is wrong).
Go all the way to the back of the place.
Sunset-ish till the Guy In The Trailer yells at us.

BWAHAHAHA! Nice poll.

Carazzie and I found a new spot in Plano that has $1.50 domestics (cheaper than Keller's) and a patio for outside seating. Great for those reptiles that need to warm their blood.

My boyfriend will be showing up someplace to meet you rowdy people...I will be too busy getting ready for my Houston trip.

Okay the place is the old Tortilla Factory in Plano - they opened up a restaurant next to it at 18th & Ave. J and apparently not too many people know about it. Nice patio...daily drink specials...Wednesday night being $1.50 domestics. Nice water feature and koi pond too...food is "okay".

I'm in for Kellers. Filmores is too 'spensive and too noisy to carry on a decent conversation. Also, an open parking lot lets me meander to another conversation in case I get caught in a conversation with miataspeedracer. :gaah:

BTW, I think I ordered the Perfect Keller's Burger tonight:

Hickory burger (#3?)
+ more meat
+ cheese
+ grilled onions

How was their grilled cheese? Texas Toast? Wonderbread?

Don't get me wrong... I love everything about the #5 except the "Special Sauce"... I usually get a #5 with mustard instead of the the aforementioned mystery sauce. However, that thing gets real messy real fast... I find myself hunched over in chowdown mode, dropping most of the leftovers all over the parking lot, and the rest of 'em all over my shirt...

If you like halfway-decent BBQ sauce, you should try the "Trickyrix Special" (shall we call it the #69? :rolleyes:). Next time I plan to add jalapenos, pickles, and/or bacon...

Any way you slice it, Keller's still offers the best "Burger Bang for the Buck" ever...

The only other place in town that I really MUST try is Wingfield's... waaaay down in Oak Cliff.

Maybe I'll start a thread for a Saturday excursion once I close on this damn house... ;)

That made me laugh.

It was not all him, he didn't try to sell me on anything (except Tein Flex's...). It was just seeing all those amazing Miatas there. It made me think about where I want to go with mine. I've had 3 project cars, 2 of which I actually got to where I wanted them before moving on, one of which was totaled before I could. I'm hoping to take this one where I want it in the next year or so.
