it hasn't quite made it this far north yet. but according to radar it should be here prettyquick.
It's snowing briskly here, and the street is covered!
About 1 1/2 inches so far here and coming down heavy.
When I left the house at 6:30 there was already about 2 inches on the ground and more then that on the Jeep.
downtown is white but the roads are melting the snow as it falls
5" on the ground at my house and still snowing hard. Street is getting covered too.
This mourning at 6:00 I got out of the house to find that all of the cars were blanketed with gobs of snow. since I was the first one out on the road it was really difficult to find the lanes and almost ran on the median when crossing the street. lol

Kid has a snow day & so do I! ::Banana::
We now have about 7 inches of snow and expecting quite a bit more, I sure hope my Miata top can handle the extra weight.
Take a broom to it.
We got a good amount in Euless. My dogs loved it.

My car made snow angels over the curb. The door scrapes the grass as it is, had it been crunchy snow ice i'd of had to climb in through the passenger door. Yes I had to park on the street, no I don't like it either.

I thought about calling in a snow day but when I got to work everyone was here and my boss was making fun of the one guy that did, heh.
The drive in was interesting. Back roads were fun:burnrubr: and on teh highway I guess the extra 4 inches of snow on the roof and back window made the wind toss the little car all over the place.
I hear they're changing the 4 - 6 inches forcast to 6 - 8 inches. it's still coming down strong here in coppell so we'll see. Tomorrow should be fun.
Oh one more thing, out HR lady was in from Canada yesterday complaining about their lack of snow, now she has a good chance of getting her flight delayed due to snow...in DFW. Awesome.
The trash collection truck just drove by. If it can make it around, school buses could too.
It just keeps coming down up here. Isn't it supposed to continue tonight?
Just another work day. This sucks!
http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...x804/home2.jpgi love this stuff
i drove around the outside of downtown for 30 mins looking for a empty parking lot. i had to come home when i realized i had been driving sideways in both lanes the whole time
I haven't ventured away from the house today, but I did get some pix. Right now the snow's coming down harder and it's really sticking to the street. I'm fighting the urge to go find an empty parking lot and cut some donuts...

This is one time when having a Jeep is good and bad. Good because it handles the snow and stuff very well. Bad for the same reason cause its not near as mcuh fun to play in the snow with. I had to work to get a wheel to spin this mornign and again at lunch when I went out.
Jeff, let me know if you find one, I'll join you. ;) Sitting in the office on McKinney Ave right now. Officially we were done @ 3, but I live so close I'm not worried about leaving early.
The 7/10 mile drive in was interesting. A Civic decided to cut into my lane w/ no blinker so I pulled into the lane he was in (why did he change lanes??) As the light turned green his FWD sat there spinning the front wheels. Thanks to my traction control and putting it in second I easily pulled away from the light and took my rightful place in front of him. ;)
The doggie looked like you had the chupacabra on your porch for a minute there...
I captured the Chupacabra peeing in my front yard...

bullet peed in the snow in front of our place this morinig. when I dragged myself out of bed around 3 again (i'm sick) there was a snowman next to where he had peed... and no yellow snow..... *smirk*
i had fun out mudding in the snow.
I get home and my freakin neighbors still have their dog outside...
Is there an animal cruelty number I can call just to report them? They have the dog in a permenant kennel with a doghouse, so they're not barbarians, they actually take care of her, but damn in this weather its rediculous.
We have a foot of snow and still getting snowed on!
As spoiled as my dog is to the Great Indoors, she loves it outside in this weather. When I was a kid, we had an "outside dog" that got a little hay in the dog house to keep him warm when it got this cold - that's it. I hate to say it, but I'm not sure I'd worry too much about it as long as the dogs have food, water, and shelter. Not everyone lets their dog sleep in their bed (um, like me).
Before you called the authorities, you could go knock on their door and check things out if it makes you feel better.
EDIT: We're not talking about Chihuahuas or anything, right? Good-sized dogs? Hearty dogs?

Man the trees in my hood are taking a beating.
Wife and I just went out to try and shake some of the snow out of our trees hopefully we helped.
Shes a short haired pit bull, not really a winter dog. I know dogs are pretty hardy, just a little concerned. I'd go talk to them but they don't speak english I dont think.
They keep her in a kennel all day/ night, every day. It's sad hearing her cry all day especially in this weather. They're good people, they take care of her, but I think shes neglected and it kinda pisses me off and i'd love to get someone over there to investigate.
She has shelter from the wind so I guess she'll be ok, I just didn't know what kind of weather dogs could go all nigh through.
Oh yea, anyone else go without power?? I got home the power went out and I watched 3 different transformers blow. Lights up the entire sky it's awesome. Anyway power finally came back on but it's been browning out and surging all night. The trees are all draped over the powerlines. Glad I don't have my PC or anything sensitive plugged in. Posting from my laptop and phone.
A couple weeks back it was in the teens were you worried about the dog then??
Call Euless Animal Control and ask them - http://www.eulesstx.gov/animal/
You're right, not exactly a winter dog, but at least she's got shelter and food.
Do they give the dog any love or does she just sit outside all day, every day? I mean, if they're feeding her and giving her shelter, it's technically not neglect... but it's not a good situation either.
A friend of mine picked up a great dog from some neighbors who, ah, didn't speak the English. He kept getting loose and ending up in her back yard, and one day she just kept him. They knew she had him, but they didn't really try to get him back. He was well-fed and definitely not abused, but they kept him tied up in their back yard - never an inside dog. Now, he's the happiest dog ever, since now he gets to pile up in bed with her and two other big ol' dogs - I think their GCWR (Gross Canine Weight Rating) is about 300 lbs.
In other news, here's a closeup front shot of the Chupacabra... stalking the snow monkeys of Duck Creek...

Yes I was but I was at the inlaws place those nights so I didn't see if she was still outside or not. I think ill drop a line to animal control or something tomorrow and just ask them about it.
Interesting enough, they had two large rotweilers, sweet dogs. After those nights in the teens I haven't seen them back there. Just noticed they tore down their kennels the last few weeks. Makes me wonder what happened to them.
And no they don't ever have the dog out to play at all. They take care of her but its not right.
