Any Luck finding one?? (aka Bump)
Did you check with Gary? We have a few 99 motors w/o intakes.
I know of one a friend has....bought it for his miata with plans to go IT...and has decided SM is more his style. :)

He's on track junkies...message him and tell him david said he has a 99 motor :)
I think he's in Tyler so it's not TOOOO far :)
Thanks for the lead David, I'll definitely check with him.
Bueller? Bueller?..... Still looking ::Bawl::
David, I just missed out on your lead, when I emailed your friend, he had already sold the engine the previous weekend. DOH!!!
I did find a place online, S.R. Enterprises (Snader Racing, http://www.snaderracing.com/index.php) located in Sealy, Texas. They supposedly have a stockpile of Miata parts. I was thinking of giving them a call to see if they had anything. Anybody ever heard of them?
Hey Keifer, how much you looking to spend? I just did a complete rebuild and I may be willing to part out! Sad to get rid of my car but I got bigger and better plans
FowlerMotorsports, I sent you a PM.
Thanks,
Keith
Bump. Have a strong possibility that I will decide on early in the morning (11/16), If anyone has a great condition, fairly low mileage 99-00 longblock for a decent price let me know ASAP...
For cripes sake, buy an engine already.
I just saw this on Clubroadster yesterday. I thougt about picking it up myself, but I've got too much going on at the moment.

From the post....
I have a 99 engine I've been holding onto for the longest, and I'm feeling like it's time to let it go. Has around 100k on it, not sure where the valve cover, cam gears or crank pulley are.. There is a little surface rust on the top of the cam, nothing some WD40 and a little 1000 grit won't fix. Depending on where you're coming from I might be able to meet halfway etc. No I haven't cleaned it up at all, I don't have the time or resources these days. Located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. PM for additional contact info.
Thanks sammm!!
bump.... still looking... ::Rant::
This may be easier to find. ;)

i have talked to the guys in sealy before when i was looking for a miata, seemed like pretty cool guys
An 03 isn't going to work in a 99 but that seems like a decent deal.
Parts Group has one now.

150k miles with no leak-down numbers? Bit of a risk. I think he just needs to rebuild his motor. It's more expensive but then you know what you got.
Besides, once you ship that used $800 motor you are even closer to rebuild price. The $800 motor might be a good deal locally especially if you had a NA and wanted the 99 intake and head but he already has these parts.
I'll lock it up, but would you start a rebuild thread soon? I might be heading down a similar path.
