SCCA Pro Finale & National Championships

:drive:That time is quickly approaching... (for those who are making the trip to Lincoln)

Registration is now open for the Pro Finale for those who are either Zone Champions or have participated in 3 or more Pro events this year.

Registration is open for Nationals too. You have until 8am on the 10th to register at the and the less expensive early registration rate.

Top 25% would be really good at nats in a really competitive class, it's a whole 'nother ballgame.

I saw that at least three local drivers were picked in the SCCA article "Who will Win?" Sep '12. Kim W. in STSL and Brianne C in BModL and Amy F. in FSPL. There may have been others I didn't recognize.
Looks like it's time for the guys to step up to the standards of the ladies.

Mark Madarash and Andrew Hahn were picked to win. Daved Whitener and Jeremy Foley were also candidates. There may be more and I will have a closer look at my next sitting.

Phil and I are registered. Not attending the Finale as we're running Thursday/Friday this year...long time to wait between Finale and our turn at Nats. Also, we'll certainly be in the 5th (last) heat...not only do the run days switch back and forth year to year, the heats roll backwards each year as well; Jason and I were in 1st heat last year, so...

Nationals entry fees goes up tomorrow! The press release (below) says 11:59 tomorrow night, the registration site had said 8am tomorrow... Play it safe and register today!

TOPEKA, Kan. (August 8, 2012) –The early registration deadline, and the significant discount on entry fees that comes with it, for the 40th Tire Rack Solo National Championships in Lincoln, Neb., falls this Friday, August 10, at 11:59 p.m. CDT.

Already, 990 drivers are registered for the largest competitive motorsports event in the world, scheduled for September 4-7 at the Lincoln (Neb.) Airpark. Prior to Friday at midnight, the reduced entry fee for the event is $158. Once the deadline passes, entries will still be accepted, but the full price of $308 applies.

:( That's a bummer... I was so looking forward to beating you for the first time this year on something other than cone counts... ;)

One thing we have learned, as much as we hate to miss a trip to nationals, there will be another one next year.

Wow... you all made me look at the SCCA site, I started thinking that maybe the Pro was running Friday & Saturday like we had to at Heartland Park with everyone leaving early on Thursday...

We will be up there for practice starts... still doing the math backwards from there...

That's taking a morning departure to the extreme... Pretty sure Mark and I won't be on the road that early. We'll be behind you by 4 or 5 hours.
