Firewheel Brewery in Rowlett

My son and I did the brewery tour today. $10 gets you a souvenir brewery glass and 3 drink tickets. They had about 10 different beers today. I think they usually only have 5. Good beers and good times were had. There was a food truck there with some very good German food. Maybe we should plan a GTG some Saturday. Website is firewheelbrewing.co.

Fyi- I asked the lady working in the food truck (she had what sounded like a german accent) where they got their brats from. She said they get them from Siegi's Sausage in Tulsa. I am definitely eating at Siegi's next time I am in Tulsa!

That sounds like a fine idea.

Looks interesting. Craft breweries need to stop it with so many damn IPA's though. It's just a tree in a bottle.

I want to go to the Franconia Brewery in McKinney next. Maybe we can get some folks together for thst one.

Deep Ellum Brewery owners are my neighbors, and Lakewood Brewery owners are parents of a former student, so might be able to setup something for MME at one or both.

Definite +1 for Lakewood! I have a fridge full of Rock Ryder and Lakewood Lager right now haha

Yep. I still haven't had an IPA worth trying twice.

I'm in for a brewery tour! I didnt even realize there was one in Garland. I also want to visit the Rahr & Sons' Brewery.

To get good German sausages you don't need to go up to Tulsa. Henk's in Dallas serve the sausages from Siegi's too!

Franconia tour is minimal, but the brew selection is good. Did that about a year ago, and they should have a nicer beer garden finished now.

We were at Deep Ellum Brewery from 1-2:45. Nice place and pretty big crowd. Great beer and music too!! Definitely going back!!Attachment 6419

Went to the Lakewood Brewery in Garland on Saturday. The best so far. Those guys are putting out a very good product. $10 bucks gets you a glass and 4 beer tickets!

I had the regular temptress at the tour and it was good. How was the raspberry?

Everyone was saying it was a lot more raspberry than they were expecting, which I agreed with. It wasn't overwhelming though.

If any of you guys are ever over in the Justin area you'll have to check out Rabbit Hole Brewing http://rabbitholebrewing.com. I worked with two of the founders for years. Pretty cool seeing what they've been able to accomplish.

I'm in for a MME tour.

Thread-jack alert! Not that any of us would drink and drive, but I had the idea years ago to create a Grand Theft Auto type video game where you drive around and throw empty beer bottles at the cops chasing you. You get more points for the more beer consumed while driving (and more ammo obviously), but every beer would slow down the steering and brake response, making it difficult to navigate. The screen would also get blurry and occasionally go black.

Parents groups would be outraged and the game would get national attention before being banned. Every teenager would be scrambling to get a copy. I'd issue a statement that said the game was intended to show the dangers of drinking and driving. By then, my bank account would be so full so wouldn't matter.

So, any game coders out there?
