I bent a couple of wheels (thanks TXDOT) and would rather get them straightened than get new wheels. They are OEM 16" twist-spoke wheels from a 2001 SE. They are driveable but can't be fully balanced out so I get a vibration. I know there are shops that rework wheels, but has anybody here used one of them and been happy with the results?
(...trying to resist the temptation to go 6UL.....)
Wheel solutions has fixed a couple of wheels for me with good results.
I have a set of those oem twisted spokes that need a repaint, but no bends or damage. I'll let you have em dirt cheap, as I don't foresee running 16's on anything I own. Will do 2 or 4, if you want to have a couple extras.

I have a shop in Carrollton that fixes wheels, will need to look up the name but they do good work.

The local BMW guys swear by Wheel Repair Solutions in Carrollton.
I'm beginning to sense a commonality of theme here, kinda like "The answer is always Miata!" except in this cause is 6UL. I need to get one of my Kosei K1s fixed as well and heard good things about Wheel Repair Solutions. Course that also does not mean that a nice set of 15x8 6ULs are not on my Christmas List for this year as well :DQuote:

That's sort of what I'm thinking, eliandi. I mean, any old POS can go buy 6ULs, but the 01 SE's are kind of hard to come by. I like having something unusual, which is one reason I drive a Vivid.
That said, the nickel 6ULs are indeed gorgeous and a great performance option.

6.5" wide OEM rims are very nice choice for you older guys. ;-)

Actually they have rather limited availability. I ordered 15x9s in Nov and got them the April. Part of the wait was the shipping problems in the Port of L.A.Quote:

They have them now, but there was a 6 month dry spell, and I won't be surprised if hey dry up again. I don't think they keep them in constant production, but order in large batches periodically instead.

I went to the trouble of swapping wheels/tires with the originals, getting the tires taken off the '01 SE wheels, and taking the '01 wheels to Wheel Repair Solutions in Carrolton all the way from SW FW only to find out that the one wheel giving me a vibration was not repairable. It was bent into the barrel and they don't fix that. So now I need to find a way to unload 3 good wheels and one bad one and I need to save up for some 6ULs/tires.
As if they are not fixed try to get new ones better after market rims :drive:
