NTAXS Autocross #3, 5/7/16, TMS Bus Lot

Texas Motor Speedway Bus Lot in Fort Worth, TX
$50/driver entry fee.
Pre-register at http://www.dlbracing.com starting April 22.
No on-site registration.

The event is limited to 65 drivers. Once the event reaches 65 drivers, you will have the option of joining the waiting list when you attempt to register on DLB Racing. If your entry from the waiting list is accepted, then you will receive an email with links to complete your registration and submit payment, but you must do so within the next 24 hours or the invitation will expire. Note that the invite will use the Eastern time zone.

You get eight runs at NTAXS events, so you will make four runs in the AM session and four runs in the PM session, with a lunch break in between.

8 AM – 9 AM Check-in, Registration, and mandatory Tech Inspection
(You must arrive in time to check in and pass tech inspection prior to 9 AM)
8:00 AM – 9:15 AM Course open for walking
9:00 AM Novice Meeting (mandatory if new to NTAXS events)
9:15 AM Drivers Meeting (mandatory for all)
9:30 AM First car out

Car Classing is based on engine size:
- Class 1/1R is for engines under 2.3 liters, except Honda S2000 and Lotus
Elise/Exige.
- Class 2/2R is for engines over 2.2 liters, but under 4.0 liters, plus Honda S2000.
- Class 3/3R is for engines over 3.9 liters, plus Lotus Elise/Exige.
- Class S2000 is only for Honda S2000 on street tires.
- Class X/XR is an open class for any engine displacement and induction.

Rotary engine multiplies displacement by 2.0. Usage of forced induction multiplies displacement by 1.5. (This is in addition to the rotary multiplier, if applicable.) Tires with a wear rating under 140 must use the R class.

Requesting an old man duty for Saturday. Partially ruptured my left Achilles. Can stand and walk, but no running.

I can find a jumpsuit, just make me an apex cone, nobody ever hits those.

Very interesting. It crosses over itself. First time I've seen that around here in my entire autocross experience (5 months). I have seen courses designed for smaller lots that do that, so I guess it's not that uncommon.

Not too common to get a loop...I wish I could make it!

I think a Minion Yellow 2004 Corvette Z06 fits that description.

Run 2/Work 1 : Classes 2, 2R, X, XR, 3, 3R

Very smooth, Daniel. I hope to get there one of these days.

I could use some help on getting faster, all suggestions welcome.

My best time was 50.668, but the video below is what I felt to be my cleanest run, right up to the point of plowing through that cone at the end. Still, it was a not-very-impressive 50.418+1, and it wasn't really all that clean, especially in those skid-pad turns at the end.

What do I need to work on to go faster? I might have lots of things to work on, but what stands out most?

Skip, #65 - 2015 PRHT NC. (I know a 6MT PRHT may not be the fastest, but I don't think the car is really my issue right now.)

I think your line choice had a few problems. In addition, it appeared that you were turning *after* you got past an element instead of anticipating. Next time you're at an event, take a course walk with a seasoned veteran and pick their brain about line choice, first and foremost.

I'm think I'm starting to get *it* and feel comfortable with the car, though with no slaloms or tricky little features this course was easier on me. Though I cant figure out how to embed YouTube videos here..
