Well, I finally ordered it today. Plus my GC Coils. Got a good deal on the Kit from Brice @ Alamo. So the days of 98whp will soon be over!

That'll be nice!
when yyyyyyu get it done you'll have to come out to a meet so I can get a ride. I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
If I can find my old manual boost controller, I'd be happy to donate it to your cause. Will hunt around in my buddy's garage this weekend to see if it's still around.
From what I hear, the pricing of the new FM kit is pretty good and includes everything. We'll know Monday....
Had a nice long convo with the FM guys on Wednesday. Kit should be closer to $4k (with Link ECU), and mroe for Hydra, or less for no ECU. I was trying to talk them down to $1200 for the 90-93 Link, but no joy. So I went with the Greddy Kit cause it was within the $1200 limit.
No problem. I hope you don't mind a harsh ride. The springs I ordered for the Ground Controls were SM-rate. 700FR/325RR for those not familiar with the SpecMiata springs. I also have priced out some 2.5in SS exhaust piping to build the exhaust. Already got a 2.5in race cat, plus a straight-thru muffler.
I guess I'll go ahead and tell you about my "Phase 2":
S-AFC (already have one from other car)
1.8 injectors (gotta love SM parts cars)
small IC (probably something to mount in place of the plastic OEM crossover tube. temporary, but should work for the 9-11psi I hope to run)
Bipes/MSD timing controller
Elec Boost Controller (or manual if someone is gonna donate it ;) )
Cam gears
Not sure where I am gonna go from there, but I am looking for 220-230whp, which will be plenty for daily/autoX/track.
do you have the intercooler already? i have a small one i could sell?
i got the centerforce dual friction. very grippy but same pedal pressure as stock, maybe even less. if i was going to do it again i would choose a centerforce dual friction pressure plate and a stock disc for longevity. i wont be making more power than it can hold. i got the greddy kit too we should all make a day of putting it in.
oh yea, dont ever, ever ever ever ever bring your car to alamo auto sports
We can help you on the clutch we have them in stock, recommend our Spec Stage 2. Of course we have the TDR intercoolers as well for your car. The Greddy is a good choice, we use the Ultimate frequently in boost upgrades. By the way I would also recommend before you start upgrading motor mounts and the power frame stiffener.
Give us a visit when you have time. Glad to help.

I really like the trackdog intercooler setup its awesome, but that pricetag is hard to choke down. is ther any kind of dfwmiata miata discount perhaps? ;)
Size and price? PM me.
I have the CF DF on my other car, and I LOVED it. Wasn't sure if it was the best option for the Miata though, so I had to ask for someone with previous experience.
I am gonna try to do all the work, if possible. That or get Chris to help me at Bob's place. He works on SpecMiatas ALL DAY, so I am sure he can slap on a turbo kit if needed. As far as Alamo's work, I have spent about $16k-18k there on parts and labor, and NEVER had any issues. That's not including the Turbo Kit or GC Coilovers either, that's just on my other car.
Thanks. I have looked over your online site 100s of times, and then at my wallet, back at your site, cried, and then cried some more. You guys have some AWESOME stuff, ESPECIALLY the FMIC setups! I am looking at those stiffeners for the near future, but found some solid aluminum motor mounts I will get when I have the money ($250/pr). I am interested in the Diff mnts as well. As for the clutch, as much as I HATE it, I am probably gonna end up getting some "Exedy Stg 3" on eBay for $149. The price is right, and that's what this is right now, a SMALL budget build.
Ditto.
I put my greddy turbo in. awesome. totally worth the money. if you need help putting it in let me know
I'll chime in... I decided to keep the Miata and now I'm planning to pick up the Greddy turbo when I have the money in a couple of months. I'm tired of getting smoked at red lights. By New Beetles.
So it's a good kit huh? Maybe I can slip AJ a couple of bucks to install it for me :D
the kit fits a little weird, but a good kit. im thinking now i need an intercooler.
ill be happy to help you install it if you want.
I have a brand new blow off valve if you want one. I will let it go cheap.
get some header wrap.
Looky what I found!

Think that'll work for controlling ye olde boost? I used it in my other car before the Haltech went in, fwiw...
I found the company that makes the FM Link plugin computer. i can order it and have it shipped from Australia for 500 dollars less than Flyin miata sells it for. I really like Flyin miatas stuff but damn they are overpriced.
I got a good source on a used Link w/ a FMIC (off a FMII Kit). Won't know till Jan though. If not, I got a buddy who will give me a good price on a Haltech for it. I am still procrastinating on the install, not sure when it will go in.
Well, after much putting off and such, I finally took the time to have a buddy of mine install the kit for me. I did the Fuel Regulator, he did the rest. It is a pig below 3k, and then only hits full boost and pulls strong at 4k. I set the timing at 6BTDC, but might move it back to 8 or 10 when I can get a full tank of 93octane, instead of a 50/50 with 87 and 93.
you should hit titus up he has a timing controller for sale
Dyno Results:
111whp/110tq
I was surprised at how low it was, but it still pulls hard.
So ya picked up 13whp and 22tq with the turbo, is it just me or does that seem rather low???
Need a timing bump maybe? Those #'s do seem low.
Yeah, they are really low, something is not right...
