The brand new Dallas Karting complex opens for business this weekend!
OK guys,
I talked with Mike again this afternoon, and here's the deal. They will reserve the DKC Championship Party (two dedicated 12-lap races for $50/person) rate for our group for Monday morning. Scheduled time is 10:30, but try to be there a little earlier to get sorted out, get a helmet if you need it, etc.
Driver's suits are not required, and Mike said that long sleeves/pants are not required either... although I'd recommend a pair of jeans at least. Closed toe shoes are required. You can bring your own helmet or use one of their loaners, although you'll have to bring/buy a headsock if you use one of theirs.
We need a minimum of eight people to get the DKC Championship Party with the group rate and guaranteed races. Now that I've got a firm time, go ahead and post in this thread if you're in, then send me a PM with your name and contact info so I know who to look for Monday morning.

is this for the medium carts or the shifter ones? i'd really like to play with the shifter karts.

Medium. The shifter carts are MUCH more expensive, and you are required to first show your proficiency by getting around the track in the medium cart under the target time before they let you rent the shifter cart.Originally Posted by russian

what is the group rate for the karting event? I am interested in partaking...I am new to this forum just joined after seeing Altiain's post on the S2k forum.

Group rate is $50 for two 12-lap races. Races should each last roughly fifteen minutes.

By the way - I have 12 confirmed and 3 maybes at the moment. The track at DKC has room for 15 karts per race, so of you want to be part of the fun let me know soon! if we get enough maybe we can get two qualifying groups and a "championship race"!

With Mark and Canadice I now have 15 confirmed and 3 maybes. If we can get 20+ then I think we can break it up into two groups, and do a "qualifying/race" format. We'll use your top lap time from the first race to grid you for the second race, so top ten will race for the "championship" and the rest will get a consolation race.
Either way we all get some wheel-to-wheel fun!
