The rate on freightquote is cheaper because they buy lots of space on the trucks so they get a better rate. Much like when freight forwarders buy whored out cheap space on FedEx planes and then offer it at a cheaper rate than we can offer it direct.

How about FedEx Freight?
For larger, heavier items, I've used BAX Global and a hotshot outfit called Tazmanian. Used the first only once for a personal item (not nearly the size/weight of this equipment) with no issues. We usually use Tazmanian for the heavier, "gotta get it there tomorrow morning" kinda stuff, which is usually on a standard skid (40"w x 48"l x 60"t) and ~2300lbs. Don't recall the cost offhand, though I don't think the drives to Denver would equate to a quick shot to San Antonio.
If you want contact info, I can talk to our transportation dept. & see if they'll shoot me any numbers or email addresses.

So POS, what'd ya end up doing with that 1900 pound brick?
I came up with $750 on that site with Central. Is that right?
That is a good deal. Website quoted a higher rate when I plugged it in.
