Craftsman is a fine brand for home use. You really do not need to get into Matco or other high dollar stuff unless you are a professional.

TC and I think Craftsman sockets are the best in the world... Especially when working on Civics....

Was that from the day when I saved your butts by bringing over the impact sockets?

I'm not saying you have to buy Matco or Snapon or Mac in order to get good tools, but there are better tools out there than Craftsman for the same or a little more money.

    Super Krome(SK)
    Husky
    Bonny(screw drivers)
Kobolt(although they have kept changing vendors)
Armstrong(one of my favorites for racheting wrenches)
Klein(Screw Drivers and 2000 series pliers)
    Knipex(Pliers)
    Wiha
    Bondhus(Hex keys)
    Blackhawk/Proto/Challenger(all three made by Stanley)

Craftsman has really slipped in quality since the old days. I've got a few 25 year old pieces (some of my first hand tools) that are still working fine. The stuff in the stores now is a lot cheaper looking. Do they still have a lifetime warranty?

Yup... I thought we had broken your impact socket for a second there...

Yes... thankfully... to their credit, the Sears guys didn't blink an eye when both of us came in and wanted replacement on the same sockets.
