Is this going to be a back road trip, or a straight up I-35 trip? 35 is boring
Here we go again...
We're a new bunch and we're still figuring out what everybody likes. For future reference, we're going to call the Oktoberfest run "spirited".
For November, we're going to slow things down a hair and, by popular request, reprise a run to Oklahoma at a pace we'll call "touring." There will be a "spirited" section in the middle, but there'll be plenty of stops to regroup, chat, take pictures and eat. This run includes plenty of potty breaks. I swear! Here's what happened last time.
This run will be a week after the Fall Colors Tour hosted by the NTS2KOC. We generally don't do drives on autocross weekends, but we hope you'll be able to get some sleep and head out to Pennington field the next day for some autocross action.
We'll depart from the Cracker Barrel on I-35 in Denton (exit 469) at 10:30 am after a quick drivers meeting. Lunch will be at the Gainesville outlet center around noon. There are a number of options for food including the new and improved fried pies.
From there we'll head up to the Turner Falls area in Oklahoma before heading back around Lake Murray. We'll probably stop for dinner as a group in Marietta for catfish (or chicken or steak) at McGeehee's catfish.
RSVP in this thread.

What planet are you from? We don't do tours around here... But we will most decidedly NOT be on I-35 other than 1.75 miles going across the red river.Originally Posted by rx7gslse

Sadly I just realized American Airlines flight #306 does not arrive at DFW until 2:50pm on the 13th..... I need to plug these darn events in my calendar before I make travel arrangements.
You kids have fun.
The last trip to Oklahoma was a blast!
Count us in. Sounds like it will be a real nice trip. I did not mind the little above the speed limit as long as I don't get my picture taken with one of those radar camera!!!!
Alright SHelby and I are going to be there. WHo else plans on making it?
We're out. Friday, I'll be driving back from Odessa later than I hoped, and it looks like snow out here. Not sure driving to OK Saturday morning is prudent for my old body. Can't believe I'm missing this event again
I'm out - my senior engineering design project calls. See you guys on Sunday.
