The guy I instructed at miatas@hallett had the same car. His car had 915 miles on it when he got to the track. He put those miles on it just from driving down from Illinois! It was still on the break in oil, too!

Yea, my son's going to get the '97. I was going to sell it and buy him something else, but he wants it sooooo bad. So I'll bring the boost down to 8psi, and bring the Rev Limit to 6k rpm, and pull some timing. That should slow him down. However, I told him that if he really must race the car, then he can setup races for Kennadale, and I'll put in my current settings and go racing with him. Hopefully this will prevent him from getting stupid while driving on the streets. I'll keep the keypad and laptop components so he can't fiddle with the tune.

BTW, my car won't go to an AutoX until the break-in is over, and fresh oil is in.

Sam, for some reason I thought you'd like the color. I personally think its the best color I've ever seen on the Miata, and the top really sets off the color, or vise-versa.

I am pumped, this is actually the 1st car I've bought new for myself, since I got married almost 20 years ago.

I don't plan to boost this one. I'm going to try my hand at Auto-X in a stock class. But who knows, if the h/p bug hits me, after the warranty is up, I may have to find a cold-side S/C

You will love the NC, I have had my 06 for a year now and it's by far the best car I have ever owned. The MZR engine is phenomenal and sounds great to boot. When I bought my 06, since it was the last 06 on the lot so I didn't get my pick of the litter and I didn't get the suspension package with the LSD.

I find that whenever I apply too much throttle too early in a turn the back end will break loose and will slide out a little. However I also found that it is not hard to correct. If I ease off the throttle I can get the rotation to stop quickly. I guess it is on account of the light car with the engine mounted so far back, it's easy to both start and stop the car from rotating.

I assume with the LSD, you won't have too much trouble with that.

Great color, I might have purchased the RX-8 in CR if it was available in 05. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal as well, congrats!

Lotus actually has a cool red that's similar but a little wilder with a orange/gold flake in it.

Funny you say that, I'm actually planning on it. But between his p/t job and my projects, It's been hard to fit in. Soon, Hopefully we can get one in this season anyway.
