    Default Cam Cover

Sorry, long time no post. Does anyone know if a '93 1.6L Miata cam cover will fit an '03 1.6L Miata? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Virginia & Paws

    Never mind I am having a blonde moment. I have a 1.8L

    I think 90-93, 94-97 and 99-05 are all different.

After some research, a Bluebonnet club member found that 2001, 2002 and 2003 will fit each other. I would have thought that any 1.8L would fit any 1.8L. I didn't realize that they changed the engine as well. And I thought I knew a lot about Miatas, Yeah right.

I'll keep this in mind should I come to really need one. My objective is to have Paws in the shop for as little time as possible. I am having the timing belt replaced. Since the cam cover has to be removed for this, I figured it would be the best time to have it powercoated blue. I have wanted to have it blue to match the top, interior, brakes, etc. It takes 7-10 days to have it powercoated. If Paws is in the shop that long, I will be having some serious Miata withdrawls by the time I get her back (LOL). One of the Bluebonnet members offered me their old cam cover that they are no longer using. Unfotrunately it will not fit. If I get a second one, I can have it powercoated first and take it to the shop when they to the belt.

The pars group also had the powder coated camshaft covers for $150 plus a $50 core. They showed red, but I Blue.

Go a couple of pages forward on that link and you can see them.

    The 1.6 is only $100 + core. That's
    ...and across the line.
