Sounds like fun I will be there!
Sunday Nov 18th is the final TX Region SCCA event of the year and it's going to be a great one. In addition to an autocross we're going to be doing a fundraiser for Metroport Meals on Wheels AND kicking off the 'Ditch the Spare Tire' contest.
The fundraiser is voluntary, but it's so much fun I think everyone will want to participate. Sign up for the fundraiser and you'll pay $1 to MMoW for every cone that you hit on course. If you don't hit any cones we're going to have a row of them set up after the finish that you can clobber without affecting your time. If you've got one of those fragile Mod or Prepared cars where hitting a cone can do damage we're offering cone insurance. Some have called it 'Chicken Insurance', but I try to be nicer than that. You'll be able to sign up for the fundraiser when you check in. If you don't want to participate in the fundraiser the event will be just like any other, but you'll be missing out on the opportunity to cream some cones without penalty.
Our 'Ditch the Spare Tire' contest is similar to the popular TV show 'The Biggest Loser' but with cooler prizes. It's free, and it's open to anyone. We'll weigh you in at the Nov 18th event, then you'll lose all the weight you can during the off season. At our first event in 2008 (usually March) we'll weigh you in again. The person who loses the most weight on a percentage basis will win free entries for the 2008 season. That's the whole season, all 9 events! The person who loses the most total lbs will also win free entries for the 2008 season. Second place percentage loss will win 5 free entries, and 3rd place percentage loss will win 2 free entries. You can view the official rules and the smack talking at THIS LINK

I am full of good ideas, just most people don't call it good ideas!
How much do I need to pay to make the cones I hit disappear? I think this would be a bigger money maker.
Apparently I got 11 of them little buggers yesterday. 6 in one run!
Anyone know what the run work order is going to be for this thing.... The wife might the bring the kiddos up but just to see me race... I'd like to be able to give her an idea of when I race. Don't think they could handle all day...

See you guys there, I am hoping not to have a re-run of my spin performance at the last La Grave event.
I learned this the hard way.....
Take all of your valuables out of your car at night. This includes taking the mounting hardware off of your windshield or dash and hiding the power supplies. I lost over $ 1,000 to a thief with no hope of recovering my items and to top if off they smashed my window in the rain and my truck got soaked. Let my loss be your learning experience.
Mike Sexton has agreed to pony up some SCCA merchandise for the person who donates the most money via cones hit AND for the person who donates the most through chicken insurance.
Don't forget that cones hit in the Cone Crushing Zone will count toward your donation but NOT your time penalty. Cones hit on course still count toward your time penalty.
