I have a really old Magellan RoadMate 700. We have been very happy with it. Our favorite features:
1) It has a 20G hardrive in it with ALL maps preloaded, so we never have to update the maps. This may be a common feature today, but this was the only one that had this when we bought it 3 1/2 years ago.
2) It is the same software that is used on the Hertz Never Lost GPS systems, so we knew it was REALLY easy to use and were already familiar with the software.
Wow what a nice attempt at being funny, better luck next time.
Here is a bit of Chicago history for ya!
I got the Mio C310X for $150 earlier in the year, it works ok but some stuff is pretty dumb. It's hard to argue for the price though. You can also hack it and run programs on windows CE.

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
I use the sun or stars which ever is visible. In case of low visibility, I use my Spidey sense. If it is completly dark, I resort to my ESPn.

An old Garmin eMap.
So old that the screen isn't color, the memory card is a whooping 8mb and it connects to my computer with a serial cable. Which is convenient if you want to take a nap while uploading maps!
But it still gets me where I'm going and will fit in my pocket, so I'm keeping it.
Actually, I'm keeping because my wife won't let me buy a new one

I'm curious if it'll work at the track. It does auto laps and MPH.
