The welcome party is at the event site under the big tent the Region has rented for the weekend. The party will start at 5pm & lasts until.....whenever we run out of Domino's Pizza & Shiner Bock beer on tap/softdrinks.
Registration check-in will be held at the same location but is only open from 5pm to 7pm.
Here is a video from my best run on day 1. If it does not work yet, then wait a little longer.
I currently have fourth in ES. I heard that CosmosMpower currently first in ASP. I do not know how CS or CSP is doing.
I guess we will again meet at McDonalds at 6:30 AM tomorrow.
Here is a video of day 2. I wanted to see how close I was getting to the cones. As you can see, I am a mile away. I need to work on this.
I ended up El-Sucko today. While the actual car might have kept me from first or second, it was my crappy driving that kept me from a trophy spot (1st-5th). I was 6th.
Overall I think the dfwmiata guys made a great showing at the tour. Congrats to everyone who trophied!
I on the other hand made a couple of costly mental mistakes over the weekend that cost me a trophy spot and a Texas region 1, 2, 3 in B-stock. Great job by J-Fo and Leadfoot Jon, they really had those fat Hoosiers hooking up and they were smokin fast!

Well, outside of my crappy performance on Sunday, the event really went over well. Things flowed so smoothly and both days had great courses. Kudos to everyone that put this together. It went over much better than anything back from the old days in California.

Well I don't know sounds like back in California the participants were happier and more helpful better looking and just more fun to be around.
We suck!
I was able to bring the POSIII home in 3rd in CS which works for me!
It was a great event!!![]()
Kudos to Matt and all of the Texas Region volunteers for pulling off a great event. I really enjoyed this past weekend, and the event ran very smoothly overall. Kudos to Piper for a pair of great courses that were challenging to get right but flowed very well.
Big, big thanks to rpmchris for letting me co-drive his gorgeous NC in CSP this past weekend. I only wish I'd had an opportunity to get some test time in the car before Saturday morning (I had never even sat in the car until about 30 minutes before my first run). Still, we made some setup changes on Sunday that (I think) made the car much faster. I finished 2nd in CSP, which wasn't quite the result I'd hoped for, but I'll take it. The changes we made to the car Sunday made it easier to really push the car, and as a result I was only .2 off the leader's pace Sunday, compared to the 1.7 deficit I had on Saturday.
I'll say it before someone else does - I got beat by a girl. However, she's not only a good driver, but she was driving Dan Pedroza's former CSP car on Hoosiers, while we were on ~110 run BFG R1s. Did I tell you I have a long list of excuses prepared? Besides, I'd rather hang out in grid talking to two pretty girls than most of you ugly mugs!
Thanks again for the co-drive, Chris. That car was a hoot to drive, and has tons of potential!
Congrats to all the other DFWMiata and Texas Region folk who showed well at this event. Local guys David Smart and Stu Maxcy finished 2-3 in a smokin' fast Super Stock class. J-Fo and leadfootjon took 1-2 in B Stock, with "Mr. Choke" (his words, not mine) Miatamoto slipping back from 3rd on Saturday to finish 4th behind Eric Jones of Austin. POS managed to bring home some Mazda money in 3rd place in C Stock, behind "former National Champ" Chris Williams and Craig Wilcox in an MS-R Package.
jrj512 put up one heck of a fight in a huge E Stock class, finishing one spot out of the trophies. Someone give this guy an R Package and then get outta the way!
"Waffle King" keno squeezed out 2nd in a tight G Stock class, finishing a mere .058 seconds behind perennial fast guy Jeff Schadt.
Cosmos "cherrypicker" MPower () couldn't take the heat in SS, so he and his co-driver bumped to ASP for the weekend. Turned out to be a good idea, as Cosmos won the class at his first National Tour. Congrats and enjoy the free tires!
It was a great event and I really enjoyed myself. Good to see everyone out there!

Nice write-up altiain. Congrats all around to a very strong showing from our local guys!![]()
Can we officially call that getting "Ken O'd"
Nice driving though, GS is an incredibly fast/competitive class. Thanks again for loaning me the tire blankets, they helped a lot saturday.
I had a great time for my first national tour. Drove awesome on Saturday (Pax'd 15th with a SS index, 31 with an ASP index out of 225) and like garbage on Sunday but still managed a tour win in ASP over a bunch of fast Corvettes.
And my time would've been good for 4th in SS overall, not bad out of 20 and the 2nd fastest Lotus for the weekend behind Clovis who pulled out an incredible last run on Sunday that I couldn't believe.
Congrats to the DFWmiata crowd for doing a great job and bringing home trophies. I'll post videos from my 2 best runs soon.

Not to take anything away from your effort this weekend (you were very impressive in the Elise), but PAX results, especially from Saturday, are going to be worthless for this event. Temperatures ranged from ~50 with a 20-mph north wind in the morning to ~80 with lots of sun and little wind in the afternoon. Even two driver cars couldn't get any heat in the tires during 1st Heat on Saturday, while I saw sseveral people spraying tires during 4th Heat.

I am happy with 7 out of 221. Jeff and I are the only AM heat cars that high in PAX.
Good point, and I noticed. I was freezing my ass off working corners heat 1
One guy from Oklahoma driving the ESP Dodge truck showed up in shorts and a T-shirt, he looked like he was going to die the whole 2 hours and made some kind of comment about "I didn't think I needed a jacket it's always hot down south in Texas" On sunday he showed up in long pants a thick sweatshirt when it was hot. LOL that'll teach him![]()
