Volvo makes one that's for sale here...
V70R... mmmmmmm
It's the Subaru Forester STi. Nothing like a 265-hp awd wagon that seats five comfortably and tops out at over 155mph.
Too bad it's only available in Japan.
LInk to Car and Driver capsule review.
I'd love for Subaru to bring something like this over here. More power and utility than a WRX, and more suited to on-road urban driving than a Forester XT. Think of it as a WRX STi with space for the whole family and their gear. I really like it, and I think it would ba a perfect complement to a Miata.

Yep. The Forester XT has the same 2.5L long block and internals as the STi. The only differences are the turbo, intercooler, uppipe (Forester's has a precat, the STi's doesn't), and engine management. They're also virtually identical to the engine in the new Legacy GT.Originally Posted by fwMiata
Technically, the Forester XT and Baja XT are rated at 210hp and 235 lb-ft of torque, while the Legacy GT is rated at 250hp/250 lb-ft of torque. Strange that they make almost identical numbers on the dyno... numbers about 20hp & 30 lb-ft of torque more than a WRX (227 hp/ 217 lb-ft of torque).
