Plugs and wires is a good place to start. Change those and report back. Fuel filter wouldn't hurt either.
I'm hoping that someone here has seen this before. I recently acquired my 1991 and started driving it. All in all, it's not bad. It idles beautifully, it has smooth acceleration from about 2500-6000 RPM, but for some reason at about 1/2 to WOT between 1000 and 2000 RPM the engine hesitates/hiccups/whatever.
Since I just picked up the car and have a fairly good idea about the prior maintanence, I figured I would start with the obvious by checking/replacing plugs and wires.
Does anyone else have other ideas about what I should look for?

A little Seafoam treatment might also be in order. I'd say do the Seafoam first and then put in some fresh plugs.
Also check for any vacum leaks as the hoses might be getting old and brittle.

Get a set of NGK blue wires and NGK plugs then add a bottle of Techron Concentrate to a full tank of good gas.
Go out and run the dog out of it for a bit.
That just fixed two up this week.
Lady thought it was gonna be expensive.
All seem like good suggestions. As is, I started with NGK plugs and new wires. It seems that the problem disappeared -- for now. I wonder if weather might have some sort of effect. It's running fine in this 70+ degree weather. I'll wait until Wednesday morning before I decide my problem is fixed.
Regardless, some of the other suggestions (vacuum leaks, fuel filter, seafoam, etc) all sound like just plain good sense. So I'll probably get to those in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the help. I'll let you know on Wednesday whether my problem is gone or not.
