Jon just flat out drove us yesterday, but he admitted to having the advantage of a co-driver during the cold morning session.

It was the battle of the Krusty Kumhos, both Mr. Baker and myself showed up with some old old 710's!

Anyone know when the new and improved 710's will be available? The kids in CS don't really want to buy any more of the old school Kumhos 710's.

Exactly, there were several long sweeping turns that required a certain level of slip angle to get through quickly. No real technical sections, and Jon just excelled out there.

I just plain sucked, can't comment on the rest of BS.

Jerret, granted the shorter 195's are giving you a nice gearing advantage. You really are giving up tons of grip to the 225's that Gerry and Rick run. I would look into getting a set ASAP. BTW, you looked really good out there. Incredibly smooth on your 1st run.

I will probably need a new set part way through the season, so I will try some 225s to see which seems to work best for me -- better gearing or more grip. As for "ASAP," I cannot push aside tires with only two events on them in order to try something larger. I just cannot afford it. They get replaced when they are used up.

I think the other issue is that Jerret runs a 5.5" wide wheel on his 1.6L Miata vs. the 6" wide wheel that the 1.8Ls have. Most of the E-stockers on the pointy board don't feel the 5.5" wheel adequately supports the 225.

Of course they don't adequately support them. The 5.5" wheel the EF Civic guys run in HS aren't ideal either. But guess which is faster

Either way, I understand your plight Jerret, and keep up the good work

Jarrett nice video! Maiatmoto, you can brag about yours when we can see both sides of your hood......

Here is one from my first run, the best run of my day.

I learned this the hard way.....

Take all of your valuables out of your car at night. This includes taking the mounting hardware off of your windshield or dash and hiding the power supplies. I lost over $ 1,000 to a thief with no hope of recovering my items and to top if off they smashed my window in the rain and my truck got soaked. Let my loss be your learning experience.

Nice video, maybe try and tape a small piece of foam over the mic on the camera to cut down on wind noise. I had the same problem with the S2000.

great idea, I was wondering how others were able to get some engine and tire noise, without the wind noise. Will try that for this weekend.
