Check with the Spec Miata guys... They usually know who has trailers like that.
Been looking at open trailers (& calling dealers) to haul my miata. Most are in excess of 20ft in overall length (stem to stern) which will not fit in my garage. Anyone familiar with a local dealer or manufacturer that sells/builds a shorter trailer similar to the shorty u-hauls? (u-haul & penske do not sell theirs)
Thanks
Steve E

Aluma makes lightweight Aluminum trailer in a large range of sizes. I have seen one up close and they are top notch. I would give them a call and see what they have that meets your requirements. They have local dealers that should be able to order the one you need.
Any of the "Trailer shops" can get you any length.
They can have one built for you too.
I'd like to see pics of the spec racer trailers, though.
I plan to build one for myself latter this year.
I have pulled a Lotus 7 and a TR-250, on a custom built, super light trailer.
It was awesome and I plan to build one similar.
2-2000lb torsion bar axles, made it pull and ride awesome.
Those axles cost more, but independent suspension make a world of difference.
Like the difference between, a '54 Chevrolet P/U and POS's Caddy.
Just remember you will pay a premium for a lightweight aluminum trailer. The question is what will you be towing with?
Not sure if this will help but I once purchased a Miata which had been towed behind an RV. I still have the towing set up. Not sure if you can use it though because the front tow hooks/loops need to be replaced by the boxed receptacles and that might violate the spec rules. Just an idea.
