Just for grins, I looked it up on the NADA guide. "Clean Retail" is $4,837 and "High Retail" is $5,587. Ok, I'll be nice and throw in an extra $1,000 for the hard top since the guide doesn't figure that in. That still puts him about $14,000 overpriced
So the real question is if you bought that car and paid the $20,000, would the state charge sales tax on the $20k, or the "Standard Presumptive Value" of $4800?? Just think of the tax savings!!
