Take the screws out before you leave to go get the top.
I'm picking up a hard top tomorrow - complete with rear/side latch strikers and Frankenstein bolts. I'm going to be installing the F-bolts when I pick up the top so I can put it on and drive home. (I'll install the rear latch strikers when I get home)
As far as I can tell - this should take all of about 2 minutes. Looks like the big, forward-located phillips-head screws holding on those chrome plates by the trunk hinges just unscrew and the F-bolts screw in in their place.
Seems too easy. Is there more to it than that?
