Just watch out for the down there
Went to Fredricksberg this weekend and found 4 roads I want to take the Miata on.
Highway 29 between Burnet and LLano: long sweeping curves good for spirited driving. 4 lanes until you get to Buchannan then 2 lanes to Llano.
Highway 16 from Llano to Fredricksberg: 2 lanes with sweeping curves and lots of elevation changes.
FM 965 from Fredricksberg, up past enchanted rock and back to highway 16.
Very Tight turns and lots of elevation changes. Road is in good shape and even the cattle guards were fairly smooth.
Last is the old San Antonio Rd. Take the turn off for "Old Tunnel nature preserve" just east of Fredricksberg on 290. Goes south down to Interstate10 and you can drive 87 back up to town. Lots of tight turns, 2 lane narrow, one lane bridges, lots of elevation change, can use some repair but nothing that would damage a car.
These were fun in the truck. I can only imagine how they would be with the top down on a nice day.
