Speaking of donors, anyone know for sure how much lighter the early 1.6 cars are?![]()
If you're lucky you can find another wrecked car that has a good front clip for cheap. I bought a front clip for an NA a few years ago for $250!!! Just a thought. Otherwise parting it out would probably be best, you'd get more money for the parts and keep what you want to transfer to whatever new NB you get.

Mike Walsted - Not an expert, just a data point.
1999 Miata
2003 MIata
1999 Miata
2001 Kia Rio
I would check out VFR750's clear title blown motor edition
99 Miata Black
don't fix it unless you plan on making it a race car, which is still a bad idea. I should have scrapped my old vw when I wrecked it up instead of fixing it, and it leaked water, and was generally stupid and the body never really lined up.
Just go buy a cheap ass blown up 1.6, ragged to shit, and swap everything over. Sell the hydra and buy mspnp.
Or you could tube frame the front of it cheaper than you re-clip it.

get an NA dirt cheap, swap everything over, sell hydra and buy MSpnp, and you'll have a better, faster, cheaper car.

Thanks for the input but not everything that I have will be compatable with the NA model. Plus I would have to pay to have the motor re-tuned with a new application or retune it myself. The hydra is already set and would be plug and play. Not to mention it is a much better application for what I have. (IMO)
Blah blah blah!
Mike you are correct, mr brg just has a thing for the MSpnp
2005 Lava Orange MSM #601/1428
211 rwhp, 195 ft. lbs on 1/6/07
I've heard good things about the MSpnp. I'm not saying its not a good application. I just have to much invested in the Hydra and everything else just to abandon it and go with a NA model and have to do an entirely different wiring system for a motor that is not for that wiring harness ect. ect. and so on. I would be creating just that much more work for myself and further complicating something that is already going to be difficult; and extremely time consuming
Blah blah blah!
