Probably a moot point for me since I've got that '99 head swap in the works... BUT I did my last oil change with Mobil One 0W-40 and a Mobil One oil filter (4 quarts + the filter for $40 out the door from Pep Boys!!!). HOWEVER, that seems to have seriously quelled my ticky/clicky HLA problem for the time being!
Cold starts - minimal ticking...
Hot starts - zero ticking...
101-degrees + hot starts - zero ticking...
Driving all day in 100+ degrees - zero ticking...
Granted, I'm not going to ditch my '99 head, but I think I can give credence to the 0W-40 cure for ticky lifters...
