I have been asked for this before, so I thought I would post it here for y'all.
This is the correlation table for SCCA to PCA classes. We tried to keep the class numbers down, so it was more competitive and we didn't give out "attendence trophys".
SCCA Class PCA Class Super Stock 7 A Stock 6 B Stock 5 C Stock 3 D Stock 2 E Stock 2 F Stock 1 G Stock 1 H Stock 1
The way this works for PCA is... you find the class your car would run if it were bone stock. Then you progress it based on the progression table.

The questions in the progression table are:
1. DOT tires with less than 120 (corrected) treadwear =1
2. Non DOT tires =2 (Note 1 and 2 are exclusive)
3. Weight reduction of more than 5% =1
4. Weight reduction of more than 10% =2 (Note 3 and 4 are exclusive)
5 Horsepower increase of more than 10% =1
6. Suspension modification of 3 or more of the items below = 1
A. Non Stock shock absorbers
B. Non Stock Springs (coil springs or torsion bars)
C. Anti-Roll bars (added or revised from stock)
D. Plastic or metal suspension bushings.
E. Adjustable Camber plate
F. Strut Brace.
Add all the points to your base class and that is the class you will run.

You might want to amend item "1" to 140 treadwear. There are a lot of street tires out there that are under the 200 treadwear rating and I'm assuming you're trying to discriminate between true street tires and DOT legal race tires.

What do you guys want as far as class designation on the car? Or do you still use a specific number for each car (no duplicate numbers in different classes)?
Please see if the following is right.
If my 1992 Miata would be SCCA E Stock, then due to SCCA STS2 modifications, I add points to PCA class #2 as following:
One for tires, one for HP and one for suspension mods, a total of 3, so I wind up in PCA class #5?
Is that right?

1. DOT tires with less than 200 treadwear =1 YES BUT REAL STREET TIRES WITH 180 RATING, NOT DOT R COMPOUND. SO IN PCA, REAL STREET TIRES, ALBEIT HIGH PERFORMANCE ONES, RUN AGAINST R COMPS. NOTE THAT SCCA USES 140 AS A CUT OFF POINT.
2. Non DOT tires =2 (Note 1 and 2 are exclusive) NO
3. Weight reduction of more than 5% =1 NO, HAS TO BE STOCK IN SCCA EXCEPT FOR WEIGHT OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM V. AFTERMARKET, SEAT ALLOWANCE (16#) AND ANY DIFFERENCE IN SUSPENSION OR WHEEL WEIGHTS

Neil... Saw you registered last night. Glad you are coming out to play with us.
Yes, we use individual numbers for the cars, up to 999 so we don't think we are going to duplicate numbers.
As for your class... you ignore any SCCA class changes. Use just the SCCA stock class.
Example. Your car is E stock. So you start in PCA class 2.
I screwed up and typoed the translation from the PCA site, and you are correct, it is lists as 120 treadwear on the sheet. So your 180 treadwear tires don't move you a class.
Now add the HP mods (one class level) and the suspension mods (one class level) and you will be in Class 4.
That means you are running against me instead of Betty (She actually wants me to put you in class 10)
And for everyone's information, we do designate non-Porsche cars with a X after the class. It's for our year end scoring only,so don't worry about it too much.
